Conservation Project 11/4 - Sunday, October 15 2006
All,

I will register the Pack for Conservation Day on the 20th of October. I have reserved Reed Campground for the night of November 4th. It is close to the shelter where we will be meeting to start the day.

Please get the names of everyone attending to me by the 20th. I also need to know who is camping. The number of folks camping will determine what and how we eat. Once we know how many are going to camp and what we are going to eat, we will be able to determine a cost. This is intended to be a very low maintenance outing. Just sitting around a fire, eating, whittling, and hanging out. No formal program.

Anyone whose name is not to me by the 20th will have to register on their own if they plan to attend. The reason they Council needs registration numbers is so that they know how many they have to feed for lunch.

Meet at the Friedlander parking lot at 8:30 a.m.

Jeff

Popcorn Sale Mystery House Clues - Friday, September 22 2006
Below are clues to the location of the some of the mystery houses within the Dan Beard Council. At each mystery house is a very special prize like an Ipod or Scooter that a Scout will receive for just knocking on the door and asking if they would like to buy Boy Scout Popcorn. Is one near you?

Edited 9/26 - Found Houses have been removed

Fort Hamilton District:

-In Hamilton, close to railroad tracks, near some “hollowed” ground, on a street whose name bears the highest rank in the Boy Scout program.
-In Liberty Township, in a newer subdivision, right next to a new school that is currently under construction.

Blue Jacket District:

-In Loveland, between Oasis Golf Club and Hickory Woods Golf Course, in a neighborhood bordered by two streets with long hyphenated names.
-In Oakley, near a park, on a street that is connected to another with a name that rhymes with a type of duck.
-Fly to the Blue Ash Airport, take the train to Kenwood, and “Zig Zag” on over to the area where I live.

William Henry Harrison:

-Help, I’m surrounded by a country club, a memorial field, and a park.

U.S. Grant District:

-In Georgetown, on a road that’s the opposite of night, and not quite a mountain.

Trailblazer District:

-In Alexandria, look south of a place you don’t want to be on Halloween, for a street that’s off of Route 27, named for a primary color, and just north of “a little bitty creek”.
-In Fort Wright, think of some places related to a couple of our most popular past Presidents to find this home’s neighborhood.

Maketewa District:

-In Wyoming, you’ll find one of these, but you won’t be able to see an ocean from it, or play in the sand.
-In Springdale, I can be found near one of New York City’s well-known landmarks. My neighbors help me sweeten my tea, and provide me with luxury transportation.

Popcorn Fundraising Video - Monday, September 4 2006
Pack 415 has ONE fundraiser each year to earn money for the many activities we have . . . we sell popcorn in the fall. Through this ONE fundraiser, we earn enough to support ourselves for the entire year.

Watch this video training activity to see why we sell popcorn and to learn the in's and out's about how to sell popcorn. It's a pretty good activity based training session for your Scout.

Our New Web Site! - Wednesday, June 14 2006
Thanks to Chris Leonard to getting our new web site up and functional. He has done an outstanding job! This tool should help us keep everyone informed of our activities and functions as well as provide other basic scouting news, uniforms and awards.

In the future, Chris will work with each Den Leader to establish their own calendars which will pull out from this site.

This web site should be used for Scout news only. Please avoid using this for any non scouting news, events, or solicitations.

Thanks again Chris.

New Website!! - Tuesday, May 23 2006
Hey! We've got a website now. As part of Pack 415's committment to improve communications among all the Pack's members, we've solicited the help of Chris Leonard to develop and manage this website for us.

Our intention is for this website to be a full resource for parents, leaders and scouts, not only from our Pack, but from Scouting units throughout the country.

The site is currently a work in progress. Some of the basic functions such as news, calendar of events, and basic information are ready. As time goes along, more will be added including award requirements, uniform and award information, forms and many other resources.

Chris has many years of experience with both Scouting and website development. He was Cubmaster for Pack 846 in Milford prior to the "school restructuring" that landed his youngest son in our Pack so he could be with his school mates. He developed the www.pack846.org website many years ago that continues to be a resource for Scouts and Scouters throughout the country. He is also owner of Scout Web Services (www.scoutwebservices.com) that offers web services to hundreds of Scout units and small businesses worldwide.

So kick back . . . take a moment and explore our new site. Come back often as it develops and learn about all about our Pack, Cub Scouts and Scouting in general. We're glad you came to visit.
